An expert witness can play a critical role in establishing the well-founded fear of past persecution or the likelihood of future persecution alleged by an asylum seeker.
An applicant can establish some of the necessary elements through his own testimony, however, the additional support of the testimony of an expert witness provides objective evidence about the conditions of the country and improves the credibility and sufficiency of the persecution claim alleged by an applicant by helping to document the factors required for an asylum petition to be granted.
